The Professional Whiner

Honestly, I just don’t get it. How can someone who always whines about being treated badly, always blames others for just about everything, and always claims to be a victim, be the darling of people of a political wing that scoffs at liberal “snowflakes” and tends towards a version of amped up masculinity?

Seriously, think about it. On one hand we can actually purchase Donald Trump trading cards that show him as a superhero with super powers. It doesn’t get more masculine than that. Muscles on muscles. Confidence to the max.

On the other hand? When was the last time you heard Superman whine about Lex Luthor? Or Batman complain about how badly he’s been treated by the Green Goblin?

Instead, Trading Card Don uses every event, every public speaking opportunity to complain. To whine. To grouse. Grumble. Gripe. Blame. Carp. Moan. How many synonyms can there be?

What he doesn’t do, what he never does, is accept responsibility. For anything. Ever! Go ahead, search through the video and audio files. Let me know when you find the clip. Take your time. I can wait…

Oops. Times up.

Think about any other person in your life who refuses to accept responsibility. Who always blames someone else when things don’t go their way. How do you handle that? Do you want that person in your life?

If your kid is caught with their hand in the cookie jar, then blames his brother for telling him to do it, what do you do as a parent? Correct him? Help him see the error of his ways?

In most worlds, the answer isn’t, “Yeah, it’s his brother’s fault.” It doesn’t include punishing the brother while the culprit happily wipes the crumbs off his face.

In most worlds, we don’t tolerate whining, complaining, poor-little-me, always-the-victim, type of people we encounter in our lives.

So how is it that a man who has built his entire career blaming others and never taking responsibility actually be a hero to people who would otherwise never tolerate such behavior in their friends or family?

And don’t just say it’s a deep state thing or a conspiracy thing, because even if there IS some conspiracy somewhere, some of the times, it’s not always a conspiracy. It’s not always someone else’s fault.

Trading Card Don is, quite simply, a professional whiner. A professional victim. A professional sniveler who has consciously developed those skills while hiding, Oz-like, behind a manufactured persona he sells like bubble gum and baseball cards.

In most worlds, there comes a time when we finally realize that the behavior pattern becomes too obvious. When the threshold of credulity has been reached. But how long do we have to wait?

When your friend starts blaming you for his problems? When the cookie-jar kid needs Ozempic? When does the shit finally hit the fan? When will Toto finally pull back the curtain?

It’s been a long time. We’ve been under the spell of the most sniveling cry-baby the political world has ever seen. I didn’t really believe that such a large chunk of an entire country could excuse that kind of behavior for this long.

But it has. The curtain is still in place. The cookie-jar kid is still getting fat.

And a whining, sniveling, cry-baby still blames the world for his woes. And his acolytes still believe him.

Like I said at the start, I just don’t get it.
